I provide updates on my MelioGuide Building Better Bones course and MelioGuide Pro content – specifically continuing education credits and best practice guidelines for Physical Therapists.
Since launching MelioGuide, I have had many people contact me and ask whether they should be on an osteoporosis medication such as a bisphosphonate. In each case, I encourage the individual to have a conversation with his or her physician about the effectiveness of the medication and potential risks associated with taking the medication.
Inservice training is a popular, convenient and economical way to train your staff. I recently delivered the first of two Inservice training sessions to the Physical Therapy department at a local hospital in Ottawa.

The Government of Ontario, through HealthForcOntario, recently announced that the Allied Health Professional Development Fund (AHPDF) is being offered once again. The funding is available for the period April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
I had the pleasure of attending the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario award ceremony on June 13, 2011. The event took place at the University Club in Toronto.

On April 28th the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario announced that I was the recipient of the 2011 Award of Distinction. The Award recognizes the significant contributions and achievements of a physiotherapist through excellence in practice and the broader community. This is a great honor for me.
